A Kelly Kettle / Volcano Kettle will boil water in 3 to 5 minutes depending on the fuel you're using. Made from aluminium it is essentially a double-walled chimney with the water contained in the chimney wall.

Once the campkettle is filled with water, simply start a very small fire in the base, set the kettle on the base and drop additional fuel (twigs, leaves, grass, paper, etc.) down the chimney.

The large internal surface area of the chimney heats the water very quickly. When the water boils, hold the Handle at an angle of 90° to the Kettle - then lift the Kettle clear of the base.

To pour, lift it by the handle and tilt it using the cork chain.

If additional water is required, simply refill the kettle with water and place it back on the base when the fire is still burning. Refill the chimney with fuel and you can look forward to a second kettle full of boiling water within a matter of minutes.

This lightweight kettle fits neatly into a Rucksack or Backpack. As there is no need to carry fuel, these kettles will keep your pack light and save you money at the same time - never worry about running out of fuel again!

Using any naturally occuring solid fuel (sticks, pine cones, dry camel dung! etc.) this kettle will operate perfectly well, even in a storm and will bring 2 Mugs of water to a rolling boil within a matter of minutes.

If more hot water is required, simply refill the kettle and place it back on the fire base and refuel the chimney again. The kettle will be boiled again within a matter of minutes where water can be used for more hot drinks, boil-in-the-bag, bathing, washing up, etc.

The Cook Set enables our Kettle to be turned into a portable cooker eliminating the need to carry any fuel on your trips.

Enjoy cost free, Carbon Neutral cooking outdoors using whatever natural fuels are available.

The cook set can be used in two ways:

1. When Kettle boils, remove kettle from fire base and place Grill Pieces (2 no.) onto the fire-base. Then simply place your Pot/Pan on the Grill pieces for cooking, adding additional fuel to the fire base as required. Fuel can be inserted through the air hole in the side of the base.

2. Using our Pot Support® certain foods can be cooked quickly over the chimney of the Kelly/Volcano Kettle as it boils thus ensuring maximum fuel and time efficiency.

Note: as the heat is intense, you will need to stir your food regularly.

Kelly Kettle Pot Support

This Pot Support® lets you place the Kelly Cook Set on top of the 2.5 pint Volcano Kettle as your water boils, thereby harnessing all the heat that is generated in the chimney and ensuring maximum fuel efficiency.

Even in a Storm the Kettle works remarkably well - hence the Pot-Support® allows an element of cooking even in extremely harsh weather conditions. If more fuel is required as you cook/boil up, simply remove your pot/pan using the gripper handle (all in our cook set) and feed additional fuel through the Pot Support®. You don't need to remove the pot support from the chimney when refuelling.

When you have finished cooking, allow time for the pot-support to cool. Then it can be disassembled, flatpacked and inserted up the chimney of the kettle for transport.
